REFLEXOLOGY

The ancient healing art of reflexology enhances the body’s ability to heal itself by restoring and maintaining the body’s natural balance. There are many different types of reflexology such as hand, ear, and facial. Reflexology treatments at Triple 4 are currently given by way of the foot, however I am actively continuing my education in order to evolve my treatments and deliver this wonderful therapy in different forms . To understand foot reflexology, it helps to picture your feet as a road map for your body. Each organ, gland, and system are represented on one or both feet by thousands of tiny points called reflexes. Using specific finger and hand techniques, a deep pressure is applied to stimulate these reflex points and activate nerve impulses. Through this process reflexology therapy can relieve stress and tension, improve blood circulation, and assist the body’s efforts back to its normal functioning state. Conditions often treated with reflexology include arthritis, type II diabetes, cancer treatment symptoms, hypertension, migraines, anxiety, and depression.

Treatment Frequency

Regular treatments can assist the body in maintaining health and correct slight imbalances before they become a problem.

For general health balance and maintenance:

  • 1 treatment a month

For an acute condition such as bronchitis or the flu:

  • 1 treatment a day until you improve

For a chronic condition such as arthritis or chronic fatigue:

  • 1 treatment a week to manage symptoms

Treatment Process

Each session begins with a consult where I will find out more about your life, your stressors, and the areas in which you are suffering and need relief. From there I will soothe your feet with a hot towel cleanse and do a few warm-up techniques to get you loosened up. Now your one-hour reflexology treatment will begin. For those who find it hard to relax we can begin with a few guided deep breaths and you can use a calming eye pillow, which I recommend for everyone. Relaxing music and aromatic scents are also included in the treatment to enhance your peace-of-mind and add to the healing. My trained, sensitive hands can detect imbalances or tiny deposits in your reflexes, and I work to release these blockages to provide you with noticeable improvements in your health, outlook, and energy.

Each person’s treatment is unique by way of the application and the effect. Communication is vital because YOU are in control. My role is to act as a mediator between you and your body so please vocalize at anytime if the pressure needs to be adjusted or when an area feels especially tender. Silence in encouraged to allow yourself to truly focus inward and reach a level of utter relaxation.

After a treatment you may experience some of these mild side effects:

  • Increased urination, perspiration, and/or bowel movements

  • Gas

  • Headaches

  • Nausea

  • Dizziness

  • Tiredness

  • Coldness

  • More mucus

  • Tender feet

  • Emotional sensitivity

These side effects are short-term and tend to subside quickly. Simple home treatments will be encouraged to assist your body in eliminating the toxins that were worked loose and to promote rest and repair such as drinking more water, taking an Epsom salt bath, and getting a good night’s sleep.
